Important: A developer is in the process of trying to have Flamingo Heights re-zoned from Homestead Valley/Rural Living to Planned Residential Development. He will then build 243+ homes.
Maryan Barkley has written a letter to San Bernardino Co. Land Use Services stating that the Flamingo Heights Community Association is against this re-zoning.

More Important News!!!
The Town of Yucca Valley is planning on submitting an application to LAFCO asking to annex Yucca Mesa into their city limits. The Homestead Valley Community Council has opposed this attempt as do all the individual organizations, ie: Flamingo Heights, Landers, Johnson Valley and Yucca Mesa.
Our members have signed a petition opposing annexation and are encouraged to write letters opposed to this land grab attempt by Yucca Valley. If we let his happen it will be the end to our rural way of living. No more horses, no more 2 1/2 acres per house. We could have street lights to spoil our night time view of starry skies.
If Yucca Mesa is annexed, Flamingo Heights will be next. Then the Bighorn-Desert View Water Company will be within the City limits, including all our underground aquifers.
